Family Violence Reports for Visa Applicants or Holders

Date: 7th April 2025

Family Violence Provisions

If you are a visa applicant or holder in Australia, you do not have to stay in a relationship where you fear for your or your family’s safety because of the behaviour of your sponsor. Family violence provisions allow you to continue with your visa application without having to stay in an abusive relationship.

Qualifying for Family Violence Provisions

To qualify, you must have experienced family violence perpetrated by your sponsor or primary visa holder. For more detailed information on eligibility for the family violence provisions, speak to the authorised representative handling your migration process.

Providing Non Judicial Evidence

In order to be considered for the family violence provisions which would allow you continue on your visa pathway, you will need to obtain the appropriate supporting documents. One such document is a Psychological Report.

A psychological report outlining your experience of family violence is an important piece of non-judicial evidence you will need to supply the Department of Home Affairs for your case to be adequately assessed.

Why entrust us with your family violence assessment?

The co-directors at Prahran Psychology, Dean Janover and Irene Panagopoulos have extensive experience in providing family violence assessments. This has been because of the insights and skills developed through their previous capacities as Independent Experts for the Department of Home Affairs from 2013 to 2023.

Dean and Irene understand the inner workings of the process and will provide the necessary documentation that will give clarity to the Department of Home Affairs about your case.
