Amelia Frid

Amelia is a Clinical Psychologist and Board Approved Supervisor. She is passionate about supporting clients to flourish, and works collaboratively to assist clients in navigating ‘stuck-points’ and challenging transitions. Amelia has over 20 years experience working with clients who present with anxiety, depression, and other mood related issues; problematic behaviours;

Complex PTSD and personality related vulnerabilities; attachment and relationship/family challenges; self esteem and body image; and trauma and post traumatic stress disorder and injury, and burnout. Amelia specialises in trauma treatment, and complex presentations.

Amelia’s previous research has focused on empathy, anger/aggression and resilience – better understanding these attributes and how they impact the functioning of human beings across the lifespan are amongst a few of her areas of interest.

Amelia has completed specialist training in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema focused therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprogramming). She uses a tailored, client centred approach to better understand her client’s needs and works together with clients to determine the most effective interventions and overall “game plan” that will best suit her clients.

Amelia enjoys an active, creative life outside of work and loves being a mother to her three boys, and fur child.
