At the start of 2009 we founded Prahran Psychology with no particular plan other than to apply what we had learnt from the many years we worked in the public sector. All we had was a room, a one page website and a couple of chairs. It was as do it yourself as it gets and we had no idea if it would work. Well, 10 years (and an updated website and more comfortable chairs) later and we are still going strong. Over the last decade we have seen hundreds of clients and conducted thousands of sessions.
We feel that we have become an important part of our community and we have made good on our promise to each other that we would keep the practice going as long as it continued to be challenging and interesting. 10 years on and it definitely still ticks both boxes. We have been able to expand into a second location in South Yarra and have had some wonderful psychologists work for us over the years. Our referring doctors know us well and our work. We are grateful to all who have worked with us over the years and are proud of way we have tried our best to help everyone who has availed themselves of our services.
It’s been a long journey
It has not been an easy 10 years, but luckily we are not averse to hard work. The thing that really keeps us going is the feeling of privilege we get from our clients letting us in to their lives and trusting us to make some kind of difference. We feel very grateful for the past 10 years and hope that we can continue to be such an important part of so many peoples’ lives.
A psychology practice should strive to be welcome space for all. We think that we have achieved that and want to thank everyone for their support and patronage.
Thanks again
